  1.             Icon Program Utility for Print Master
  2.  
  3.     There are two parts to the Icon program, one to transfer graphics
  4. from Print Master to DEGAS format, and the other to perform the
  5. converse operation.  After the program shows you the title, there is a
  6. question about which program you want to use.  Click on the proper box,
  7. and the program will start.
  8.         The Icon program allows you to transfer three graphics pictures
  9. from any of the Print Master graphics library to a DEGAS HI REZ format. 
  10. To use, have  both portions of the library on the same disk.  You need
  11. both the .SDR and the .SHP on the disk and at least 32000 bytes of room
  12. left on the disk.  The new file will be called ICON.PI3.  If there is
  13. another file with the same name on the disk, it will be destroyed.
  14.         To use the program, click on the file that contains the graphics
  15. that you wish to transfer.  All of the pictures will be listed with a
  16. number in front of them.  Remember the number for the graphics and
  17. enter them into the program in the proper spot.  The program will then
  18. transfer the pictures into DEGAS format.  The pictures will be shown in
  19. two different sizes.
  20.         Now that you have the graphics in DEGAS format, they can be
  21. transferred as clip board files into Publishing Partner pictures with
  22. no difficulty.  Remember that the graphics in Print Master are copy
  23. written and you cannot distribute the files created with this program
  24. freely.
  25.     To use the converse utility, you must first specify whether to use
  26. DEGAS pictures or NeoChrome pictures.  Remember that you must be in low
  27. resolution for the NeoChrome picture to show well on the screen.  DEGAS
  28. pictures can be in any resolution.  Once you have selected the type of
  29. picture, there will be a file selector box for you to pick which
  30. picture you want.  When the picture appears on the screen, click once
  31. with the mouse to show the corner of the rubber box to use, and then
  32. pull the rubber box over the object that you wish to use.  Click again
  33. and the area in the box will be changed into the proper Print MAster
  34. graphics.  
  35.     Since the majority of the pictures are in color, there are two
  36. methods for the routines to modify the colors into the black and white
  37. used by Print Master.  The two choices are to use everything except the
  38. background as a part of the graphic or tow use only the 'dark' colors
  39. as part of the picture.  This will not allow yellows to be drawn or any
  40. of the subtle colors.  This is the AUTO mode.  If you have selected too
  41. large an area (more than 88 x 52 pixels) then you can have the program
  42. pick the proper size or to redo the box.
  43.     Once the graphics have been selected, you need to name it as well
  44. as specify which library it goes in.  The program will add the new
  45. graphic to the end of the old library.  After the graphic has been put
  46. into the library, the screen will be redrawn.  You now have the choice
  47. to either use the picture again, select another picture or quit.  Once
  48. you have finished with the program, you can use Print Master to utilize
  49. the new graphics that you have made.  
  50.     The demo version only allows you to put three icons in the
  51. library.  The full featured version allows an unlimited amount.  To
